Newton Discusses Prison Reform with Gov. Dukakis

  • First Baptist Church 848 Beacon Street Newton, MA, 02459 United States

Message from the organizer, Harry Breault with Strong Returns, a student-run activist group focused on prison reform.

Hello everyone! We at Strong Returns are incredibly excited to announce that we will soon be hosting a Public Forum on Prison Reform! Please join us in Newton, Massachusetts on October 10th to listen to our vibrant panel–including former Governor of Massachusetts and Democratic Presidential nominee Michael Dukakis and Essex County Sheriff Frank Cousins, Jr. –discuss crucial issues like solitary confinement, prisoner education, and offender reentry.

In the bipartisan spirit of the prison reform movement, we are generously being sponsored by both the Newton Democratic City Committee and the Newton Republican City Committee. True to form, our panel will field two Democrats, two Republicans, and an additional speaker with personal knowledge of the criminal justice system.

Whether you're deeply passionate about prison reform or just want to learn more about this amazing movement, we'd truly love to see you. Attendance is free and we will offer light refreshments. Please note that Time, Date, and Location are subject to change as planning continues! Thank you for your understanding!

We hope to see you there!
