Positive news: Newton Mayor Setti Warren has joined City Councilor Susan Albright and her colleagues in support of a strong Welcoming (aka Sanctuary) City Ordinance in Newton.
Their new bill (which you can read here) has the support of immigration legal experts, the chief of police and those on the Council who were fighting for the strongest possible protections in our community. Thank you to our city officials for coming together.
The Next City Council meeting on this bill is [Tentatively] at 7:45 pm on February 8 at Newton City Hall. We want to get there early and show that our community strongly supports this bill. We want the world to know that there is overwhelming support for this bill in Newton. Please arrive early and stand with advocates for peace and justice during these difficult times.
