Message from Rep. Khan's Campaign to Supporters: Please Volunteer

www.votekaykhan.orgDear Rep. Kay Khan Supporters,

I just wanted to update you all on what has been happening with the Kay Khan Campaign thus far:

So far we have put up roughly 40 lawn signs,
We've scheduled two house parties/coffee hours for Kay, as well as a Fundraiser that will be taking place on October 11th (more details to come later)
We have been doing two visibilities a week, one at the Farmers Market at Cold Springs Park on Tuesdays (2-5pm) and one on Thursdays in other places around Kay's district (4:30-6),
We have been calling Kay's lists to find people who will be willing to put up a lawn sign, host a coffee hours, participate in visibilities, etc.  But, as you all know Newton is pretty quiet during the summer.  I'm hoping to hear back from some of these folks as they return from vacation and we will be following up with all of them,
We are coordinating with the Joe Kennedy Campaign to cover the polls on Primary Day Thursday September 6th, and Election Day November 6th.

We will miss Jennie Krems, who has been so important to this campaign all summer, and wish her the best as she heads back to GW for her senior year, but thanks to Jenny, Philip Anderson, a volunteer for NDCC this summer has joined us and will be a great asset to the campaign going forward. I would also like to thank Evelyn Golden a recent graduate of Newton North HS heading to Smith College, for her wonderful volunteer efforts this summer and wish her luck as she begins her freshman year. Some of the NDCC summer interns have been a great help to us as well and we are hoping to get a few "college democrats" from Northeastern and possibly BC to help us out in the next coming months.

So what's next?

1. We need many more lawn signs up around Kay's district, would you be willing to take a lawn sign?  If you already have one, do you know of anyone in your neighborhood who would be willing to put up one of Kay signs?  Just send me the addresses and I will put them up.

2. Are you able to host a house party/coffee hour for Kay or walk your neighborhood with Kay?  Or is there anyone in your neighborhood that would be willing to do that?  Once again, just email me with the contact information, I will follow up and get it scheduled.

3. We need to add to our visibilities, both in terms of the number of people at each location and the number of visibilities we do each week.  Please let me know if you can join us for any of the following.  Again, if you have family members, friends, or neighbors who would be willing to help, let me know and I will follow up with them.
