Ward 1, 2 and 3 host a forum on DACA and Raise UP MA Campaign

  • Newton Senior Center 345 Walnut Street Newton, MA, 02460 United States (map)

Raise Up Initiatives: Creating Economic Stability
The quality of life for low-wage workers has been compromised by wages that keep workers at or near the poverty line and by lack of access to earned paid medical and family leave.

Progressive Massachusetts is gathering support for two bills that will address those issues: $15 Minimum Wage and Paid Family Medical Leave. Join us to hear why these bills are important, how they will help change the landscape for workers, and how we can help usher the bills through the legislature.

DACA: Building a Foundation under Shifting Sands
Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals is under constant threat. Join us to learn about the changing landscape, its effect on Dreamers, the actions that organizations are taking to provide legal and personal support for Dreamers, and what we can do to help.

Each session – Raise Up Initiatives and DACA - will include presentations by knowledgeable, expert panelists followed by a Q&A session.
