Issue Briefing: Local Elections and Raise Up MA State Agenda

  • Newton Senior Center 345 Walnut Street Newton, MA, 02460 United States (map)

The NDCC invites you to participate in educational forum and discussion on two topics:

  • Local Elections: The old saying, "all politics is local" is true - what happens at the national level is built on a foundation of power at the local level. To ensure a continued strong Democratic majority in MA it is critical that activists keep an eye on local elections. Come to this presentation to learn about elections in Newton including - who is running, what offices are on the ballot, how you or a friend can run for local office and more.  Click here for additional info on local elections. Presenter: School Committee Margie Ross Decter
  • State Progressive Agenda - Raise Up MA is a coalition working on paid family medical leave, a $15 dollar minimum wage and a progressive income tax in Massachusetts. All of which are critically important to addressing income inequality and helping working-class people in our state. Come learn about the Raise Up MA legislative agenda and how you can support these important policies. Presenters: Robert Fitzpatrick, NDCC Secretary and Susan Davidoff, Senate District Lead for the Massachusetts Teachers Association.
