+ Preserve Our Democracy.

Rep. Adam Schiff (CA)

DONATE to SUPPORT FM HOUSE SLATE

Congressman Adam Schiff is Chair of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence and a Member of the House Select Committee on the January 6th Attack. He was also a Lead Impeachment Manager for the 1st trial of Donald Trump.

Monday, January 24

DONATE to SUPPORT SEN. WARNOCK

Sen. Warnock won a narrow victory in a run-off election in GA just a year ago to help flip the Senate. He is up for reelection in 2022 and is a prime target of the Republicans. We need to lend our support to keep his strong moral voice in the Senate and to maintain the Democratic majority.

Let's elect a House + Senate

Friends,

As we enter the holiday season and 2021 comes to a close, I hope you can join me for a virtual Holiday Celebration where we can smile, laugh, and spread some good cheer together. “A Livable Future: How Massachusetts Can Lead on Climate?”

A Livable Future: How Can Massachusetts Lead on Climate? (Register here!)

To our Democratic Town, City, and Ward Committee Chairs of Massachusetts and all parties interested in action on climate and justice:

The delegates who met at our state convention in September could not have been clearer:

A livable future is a human right. Given the increased speed and destruction witnessed in the last year, we must increase our sense of urgency and take action to prevent the worst effects of climate change.[i]

Right now the leaders of the world are gathering – for the 26th time! – to craft a response to the accelerating climate crisis, a crisis whose devastation we have already witnessed in every corner of the earth.

Sadly, we already know the outcome: our leaders will take some actions, but not enough. Instead of acting with unity and courage, they will continue to jockey for national advantage and ignore the deadlines and opportunities in front of us.

No wonder so many are outraged. As Greta Thunberg said last month:

[Our] words sound great but so far have not led to action. Our hopes and ambitions drown in their empty promises… Our leaders’ intentional lack of action is a betrayal of all present and future generations.[ii]

Let’s be blunt: she is also talking about us. Too many of us prefer to talk about what other people in other places should be doing. We can’t do that anymore. At our state convention, the delegates unanimously declared that right here in Massachusetts WE must act NOW.

Yes, we have taken some worthwhile steps. But we are not yet “leaders.” This state is actually decades behind the innovators and public officials in other countries who are truly building clean energy economies.

Our State House has been slow to pass the sweeping changes we need. To make matters worse, our governor has vetoed critical legislation. When his veto was overridden, he slowed the implementation of the law.

That’s why Call2Action, along with over thirty Democratic Town Committees and supporting organizations, invite you to join a virtual forum this November 14th at 7:00 on “A Livable Future: How Massachusetts Can Lead on Climate?” We’ll hear:

a word of welcome from US Senator Ed Markey, our climate champion in Congress, on the current budget battles that will determine our national futurea report from Bill McKibben, the world-famous founder of 350.org, on what he observed at the UN meeting – and what it means for usan analysis by Cabell Eames, political director for A Better Future Project, on how the governor is slow-walking the new climate law – and what we must doThe Rev. Vernon Walker, director of Communities Responding to Extreme Weather, on how the connections between the climate crisis and the injustices low income communities and communities of color must be met by a unified response.

Just weeks ago, our party overwhelmingly demanded that we “act with the boldness and urgency necessary to address and adapt to climate change.” Are those, as former Governor Deval Patrick once said, “just words”? Or are we ready truly to act like the leaders we could be?

Come learn about the actions we can and must take by joining us on Sunday, November 14th at 7 PM.

Space may be limited, so please register soon at http://bit.ly/massclimateaction

Please share this invitiation with the membership of your Committee and any other allies interested in a livable future. We look forward to seeing you!

In solidarity,

Force Multiplier- ZOOM with Senators Maggie Hassan and Ed Markey October 28th at 7 pm - Keep Senate Blue!!!

Dear Friends, Family and Neighbors -- I hope everyone is staying well and getting those boosters when eligible! As you are all well aware, despite holding the White House, the Senate and the House, the Democrats are still fighting to get their proposals passed. The thin majority in the Senate means we cannot afford to lose any seats. Senator Maggie Hassan of New Hampshire is the most vulnerable incumbent. She won by a hair over her Republican predecessor in 2016 and is very likely to be running against New Hampshire Governor Chris Sununu, who will be a very formidable opponent. We need to do everything we can to keep her in office. Yes, we are tired, we have been at this fight for years now, but we must keep pushing to save our Democracy. Please consider registering for this event and please, please please, forward to your own friends and family. Together we can do this! With an introduction by Senator Ed Markey and links to information about volunteer organizing work in NH, this will be a great event.

HELP MAGGIE HOLD HER SEAT!

Join Us This Thursday Evening
7:00-8:00pm on Zoom

Join Force Multiplier + Meet Senator Maggie Hassan (NH)

Hassan won in 2016 by only 1,017 votes.
This seat is a top target for the Republicans.
Every vote for her is crucial.

Senator Maggie Hassan has a long record of helping those most in need. She entered public life as a disability advocate and then served in the State Legislature and as a Governor known for bi-partisan successes. She and sister New Hampshire Senator, Jeanne Shaheen, are the only two women in U.S. history to serve as both governor and U.S. senator.

With Special Guest, Senator Ed Markey (MA)

Co-Hosts:

State Senator Cindy Creem + State Senator Becca Rausch + State Rep Ruth Balser + State Rep Kay Khan + State Rep Tommy Vitolo + Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan + Newton Democratic City Committee +  Wellesley Democratic Town Committee + Northampton Democratic City Committee + Brookline Democratic Town Committee + Newburyport Indivisible Rise

Thursday, October 28, 7:00-8:00pm ET on Zoom

Suggested donation $100. Please be as generous as possible.

H
assan’s opponents have been plotting to unseat her for the last six years. During that time, she’s been working hard honoring veterans + the armed forces they served + bolstering business while ensuring fairness for workers + supporting equality for vulnerable groups + fighting for environmental safety + a cleaner, greener planet.

Force Multiplier hopes you will give Senator Hassan the early support she badly needs. We want her to keep doing what she does best: champion the needs + security of her constituents + pass worker-friendly legislation in a blue Senate that puts people first.

New Hampshire is a small state with big consequences. Saving her seat means saving the Senate + the success of our game-changing Democratic legislative agenda. She’s counting on us now to bring in dollars + to spread the word.

Let’s work as hard for her as Maggie works for us.

Responding to Domestic Terrorism to Secure Democracy

Join Force Multiplier to learn from three Congressional leaders about Democratic responses to these elevated threats to our nation.

House Members Abigail Spanberger (VA) + Tom Malinowski (NJ) + Elaine Luria (VA)

Responding to Domestic Terrorism
to Secure Democracy

Tuesday, Oct. 5, 7:00-8:00 pm ET on Zoom

REGISTER + DONATE HERE

Suggested donation $100. Please be as generous as possible.

Join us to hear these three skilled, experienced defenders of democracy talk about recent efforts in Congress to investigate and understand what led up to the events of January 6th, and to ensure that it doesn’t happen again.

Spanberger, Malinowski, and Luria are among the Democrats in Congress dedicated to curtailing these

threats to our democracy and will bring us updated information about all that Washington is doing in

response.

Congresswoman Elaine Luria (VA 02) served two decades in the Navy, retiring at the rank of Commander.

She is Vice Chair of the House Armed Services Committee and a member of the House Committees on

Veterans’ Affairs, Homeland Security and The Select Committee on the January 6th Attack.

Congressman Tom Malinowski (NJ 07) was assistant secretary of state for Democracy, Human Rights and

Labor in the Obama administration and worked as the chief advocate for Human Rights Watch. He served on

President Bill Clinton's National Security Council. During his first term, he led a successful effort to restore

funding to protect us from domestic terrorism cut by the Trump administration. He is a Vice Chair of the

Foreign Affairs Committee and member of Homeland Security Committee.

Congresswoman Abigail Spanberger (VA 07) began her career in public service as a federal law

enforcement officer working narcotics and money laundering cases with the U.S. Postal Inspection Service.

Later she joined the CIA as a case officer. She serves on the House Foreign Affairs Committee.

Bring your questions for up-to-the-minute updates on the House Select Committee on the January 6 Attack, including leader McCarthy’s empty threat against telecommunication companies that comply with the Committee’s subpoenas to provide information leading up to the insurrection.

Your donation will support all three of these effective Congresspersons.

Protect their seats to help guarantee democracy.

DSC Update

unnamed.png

CONVENTION UPDATE !!!!!!!

When we started preparing for this year’s convention, we were hopeful that, by September, we’d be able to safely gather together in Lowell for a partially in-person event. However, rising COVID-19 case numbers and recent guidance from public health experts tell us that we must remain vigilant in our fight against this virus. On Saturday, the Democratic State Committee voted to transition the 2021 Convention to an entirely virtual event.

We’ve said it from the beginning: health and safety are our top priorities, and promised to update our plans to reflect changing guidance. We must protect the health of our individual delegates and alternates, guests, and staff, and the public health of our host city, Lowell, and the Merrimack Valley.

We have always been committed to providing a meaningful and engaging delegate experience, no matter the format of the convention. A virtual format gives us the opportunity to connect in new and exciting ways with attendees across the Commonwealth, in addition to completing the business of the Convention.

We will be providing more information to delegates and attendees moving forward, but are thankful to our membership for their thoughtful deliberation on this important issue. Moving to an entirely virtual convention is the right decision.

During platform hearings and through written testimony, delegates and Democratic activists will help the Platform Committee develop a draft of the 2021 Massachusetts Democratic Party Platform. Special Event -- Calls into CA For The Recall --
With Special Guest DNC Executive Director
Roger Lau

So, we are organizing a phone bank on Thursday September 2nd to call voters in CA to vote NO on the recall. Deputy Executive Director of the DNC (and our friend) Roger Lau, will be our special guest. We'll start at 9 PM ET and hit the phones until 10:30 PM ET (6-7:30 PM PT in California). At 10:30 PM ET we'll break for cocktails (or mocktails). We're virtual so you'll be safe and home! This event is also being sponsored by the MassDems Campaign Services, The Organizing Hub and TLL. Please sign up at the link below!

RSVP LINK: https://www.mobilize.us/maorganizinghub/event/408621/

As everyone knows, there are always a million different events happening from 8 AM - 8 PM but there are few events that allow folks to join at 9 PM! This is one of those due to calling in a different time zone. So, we would love to see as many of you join us as possible, especially as though there are very few excuses this one time :)

Please share the link far and wide. We'd love to show Roger and the rest of the people at the DNC that people in MA have their backs as well as CA Dems.

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to reach out.

Democratically yours,

Alex Bausch, Organizing Hub Lead 847-648-1066,
