2013 is a municipal election year in Newton, with a preliminary election on September 17 and general on November 5. In Newton, the Mayor is elected every four years and members of the Board of Aldermen and School Committee every two. For the former two, most seats are "at-large" meaning candidates campaign on a city-wide basis. This means lots of candidates to keep track of, and this year many of them are Newton Dems!
The Newton Democratic Party does not make endorsements in municipal elections, which are non-partisan. However, we would like to highlight those individuals seeking office who who have been dedicated Newton Dems and who are either in contested races for public office or who are running for the first time but are unopposed. All of them would welcome your help and involvement on their campaigns. Click here to see the list of Newton Dems running for office.
