A Golden Opportunity to Take the Blue Wave to Maine!

Democrat Jared Golden is running for Congress in Maine's District 2, the huge part of the state north of Augusta that includes Lewiston and Bangor.  He has a very good chance of defeating the conservative Republican incumbent, Bruce Poliquin, and turn the seat BlueLet's help him do that!

  • Jared is a life-long Democrat who lives in Lewiston, Maine. After September 11 he enlisted in the Marines and served 4 years, deploying to Iraq and Afghanistan. After serving on Susan Collins’ staff in 2014, he was elected to the Maine State Legislature. In his second term he was elected Democrat Whip.
  • Jared is a strong progressive who supports Medicaid expansion, improving the ACA, fighting climate change, and supporting reproductive freedoms.  You can learn more about his views at his website:

How Can You Help?

We would like to build a database of folks who have Maine connections and who might be able to help out on the campaign.

Please let us know if you, or any of your friends or family have a connection to Maine:

  • Perhaps they or a member of their family attended Bowdoin or Bates or Colby or U Maine.
  • Perhaps they have a vacation home in Maine, visit there regularly or know people who do!
  • Perhaps they just love lobster and want to help out in any way they can!

Please share any contacts that you might have, and we will get in touch with them to suggest large or small ways that they can help (e.g., write postcards, make phone calls, canvass, put up volunteers for a night, attend a fundraiser).

Ric Ripley is organizing a day-long canvass to Lewiston on Saturday July 14! We will leave Wellesley at 7:30 am and return by 5 pm.

Helen O’Connor is organizing weekend canvasses to Bangor on the weekends of August 11 and 18 from her summer home in Maine!

  • Stay in her beautiful vacation home and enjoy Maine while helping to FLIP the HOUSE.

You could travel to beautiful Mount Desert Island during the day on Friday, arrive at Helen’s house in Seal Cove, ME  in time for a late afternoon activity of hiking or biking or kayaking or swimming (or reading a book!), canvass on Saturday morning, with free time on Saturday afternoon, canvass on Sunday morning, and then drive home in time for dinner on Sunday!

With your help we can make the Blue Wave a reality!
